Emily Bergeson is a compassionate and dedicated clinical social worker whose work is driven by a deep commitment to dismantling systemic barriers and expanding equitable access to mental health care. Known for her warm presence, collaborative nature, and ability to build rapport with ease, Emily brings a grounded, client-centered approach to every therapeutic relationship.
Emily’s clinical background spans residential, outpatient, school-based, and private practice settings, giving her a strong and diverse foundation in mental health treatment. She has facilitated individual, group, and family therapy across multiple levels of care, and is highly skilled in completing biopsychosocial assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, conducting risk evaluations, and providing trauma-informed crisis intervention. Her experience in both substance use treatment and youth mental health allows her to meet clients with a wide range of needs, identities, and lived experiences.
During her time with the Salt Lake City School District, Emily supported Tier II and Tier III students through ongoing counseling, crisis response, risk assessment, and interdisciplinary collaboration. She is deeply committed to cultural humility and strives to create a therapeutic environment where every client feels seen, respected, and understood.
Emily completed both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work at the University of Utah, graduating with academic distinction and specializing in Substance Use Disorder Counseling. Her professional work is informed by evidence-based modalities, a systems-oriented mindset, and a genuine passion for helping individuals and families heal, grow, and succeed.
Outside of her clinical work, Emily enjoys volunteering with S.T.A.Y., creating art, hiking, and engaging in equine therapy—interests that reflect her love for community, creativity, and holistic wellness.
