Reclaim & Rise: Group Overview

When & Where

  Closed, 8-Week Trauma-Informed Healing Group

Start Date: July 18, 2025
Schedule: Fridays | 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Duration: 8 consecutive weeks
Location: Gallop To Growth | Layton, Utah

Program Overview

This closed, 8-week equine-assisted psychotherapy group is designed for adult survivors of sexual assault who are ready to reclaim their voice, rebuild their sense of self, and move forward toward a life of empowerment and wholeness. Facilitated by a licensed therapist and equine specialist, this trauma-informed group provides a safe, supportive environment to process, connect, and grow through healing experiences with horses.

Each session incorporates ground-based equine activities, reflective exercises, and group support—all within a nonjudgmental, nature-based setting. Participants will explore themes of trust, body awareness, boundaries, identity, safety, and self-worth as they begin to write a new chapter in their healing journey.

Group Goals

  • Rebuild a sense of safety and personal empowerment
  • Support survivors in reconnecting  with their bodies and emotions
  • Explore identity and self-worth outside of trauma
  • Build relational trust and establish healthy boundaries
  • Cultivate hope and vision for the future

Structure & Approach

  • Closed group (same participants throughout all 8 weeks)
  • 90-minute weekly sessions
  • Co-facilitated by a licensed trauma-informed therapist and equine specialist
  • Ground-based interactions with horses—no riding
  • Confidential, supportive environment

Ideal Participants

  • Adults (all genders) who have experienced sexual assault
  • Ready to engage in group-based healing
  • Seeking experiential, body-based  therapeutic support

Outcomes

Participants will gain tools for emotional regulation, reconnect with their inner strength, and move forward with a renewed sense of identity, safety, and possibility.

The group will conclude with a final reflection and intention-setting experience.
